Cam Blake

Hi there, my name is Cam Blake. I am a landscape photographer located in Hobart, Tasmania.

My passion is to explore and photograph the stunning wilderness regions of Tasmania and Australia. I have been photographing the Tasmanian wilderness for close to 20 years from my very first holiday to moving down here in 2011. Tasmania has an amazing array of photography opportunities, with stunning scenery at every corner.

After completing my degree in Scientific Photography at RMIT in Melbourne, my wife and I moved to Tasmania to start my photography business. Initially my photography business consisted of guiding photography hiking tours along the famous Overland Track. It has now evolved into running single and multi-day photography tours and workshops all over Australia and beyond. I also work closely with the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife department where my work is used to help promote and display the natural beauty of Tasmania’s national parks.

My aim in my photography is to capture and represent the true, natural beauty I see within my viewfinder and convey this to the viewer, with the hope of giving them the sense of being present at the time of capture. My style is one of single frame images with gentle editing of the image afterwards to maintain the natural beauty I saw.

I love working as a full-time photographer here in Tasmania running photography tours and workshops around Australia and beyond all year round, exhibiting my work, and sharing my knowledge and passion for the art of Photography.

I hope you enjoy this year’s Three Edge Framing Exhibition.
