Fran Gass
Australian nature and wildlife photographer, Fran Gass, lives in Ballarat, Victoria. Following her retirement as an educator, Fran is now thoroughly committed to pursuing her life long passion for photography and likes to explore the natural environment with her camera in unique and different ways. She especially enjoys playing with, and experimenting with, the ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) genre of photography, which often results in unique abstract images.
Participation in photographic tours and workshops, along with visiting photographic exhibitions, all help inform Fran’s imagery.
Fran exhibited in the Three Edge Gallery Photography Exhibitions ’twenty five IN THE LANDSCAPE’ and ’SPLASH’ at the M2 Gallery, Surry Hills, Sydney in June and November 2024 She was awarded a Runner Up prize in the 2023 Snap Happy The Photography Show competition. When another photographer and Fran travelled to the Arctic region on a Photography Tour, the outcome was to share a Fringe Program Exhibition in the 2017 Ballarat International Foto Biennale.
